INFOPico Schutz is symbol of Werder Bremen, their legendary captain and player with most games played for the club. He was allrounder who played almost on all positions, started as striker but later moved to midfield and eventually defence. Very brave player and hard working with rocket shot, with good technique and aerial play, he was good penalty and free kick taker, combative and tactically perfect, a real "right hand" of coach on the field. Schutz and his teammates ended 1959 to 1963 the league five times round the north to the runner-up position behind the series champion Hamburger SV. Overall, all-rounder from 1955 to 1963 graduated in the top league games and scored 219 North 109 goals. In the finals of the German football championship in 21 games 13 goals for Werder has achieved by 1959 to 1963. In Oberligaära stands out in the success of the series in the 1960/61 DFB Cup. In a 5-2 success at second April 1966 against Borussia Neunkirchen, he distinguished himself as a four-time scorer. In the European Cup champion, he failed with Werder on eventual finalists FK Partizan Belgrade. From 1963 to 1972, "Pico" contactor in the Bundesliga with 253 goals and 69 games out. Pico died in 2015.
