INFO:

Bernd Patzke played mainly as the offensive right and left back in the late 60's, although in the beginning he was much more defensive minded when he played in 2-3-5 system as one of 2 defenders. Known for his tough playing style, defender with good positioning, strong and good in heading. He was gifted technically with good pace and knew to send good long ball from the back. In 1962 Patzke moved to Liege in Belgium. After winning the Belgian Cup in 1964 brought him coach Max Merkel to TSV 1860 Munich. He graduated as a defensive player in the 1964-1972 Bundesliga 202 games for 1860 Munich and Hertha BSC, scoring six goals. With the "sixties" He was German champion in 1966. Patzke came to 24 appearances in the national team. He was at the football World Cup in England in 1966 with the team champion and runner-up finish at the World Cup in Mexico in 1970 with the team in third place. Patzke was in 1971 one of the main parties involved in the scandal known as Bundesliga and was initially suspended for 10 years. This barrier did not apply to foreign countries, so that he could play in Durban City in South Africa. On 26 November 1973, he was pardoned and returned to the "Lion" back. From 1975 he worked as a trainer, among other things for the ESV Ingolstadt and the southern second division FK Pirmasens. In September 1983, returned as coach to back Patzke 1860 and reached the championship in the Bavarian League. The "lion" but failed in the second round to climb League. In 1984 he was fired as coach during the current season again. In 1990 Patzke was coach of Oman. Since 1996 Bernd Patzke works as a player consultant.
