INFO:

Luggi Muller could play on various positions in defence, midfield and sometimes was even used as striker. He was very strong player with offensive attitude due to his good technique and passing play in creating the attacks. Technically very skilled defender with some great dribblings and powerful shooting. Luggi was good marker and reliable penalty taker but sometimes lacked agressivness and used to act too passive in the game. As a stopper Ludwig ‘Luggi’ Müller was sublime, one of the best of the late-1960s who later evolved into a passable libero, too. He had great charisma, was tough in one-on-one situations, had a good overview and anticipation and was pretty good at building up from the back and thus a classic ‘defensive’ organizer. Because of the great competition in his position he only managed six international games. He did have what it took for a far greater international career. In the summer of 1964 brought him the "Club" in Nuremberg. In 67-68 Nuremberg won the football championship. As defending champion in the 1968/69 season Nuremberg were relegated. Ludwig Mueller had played 136 games from 1964 to 1969 with 10 goals for Nuremberg. Borussia Moenchengladbach announced signing of Ludwig Müller. He had played from 1969 to 1972 for Borussia Moenchengladbach 82 Bundesliga games and scored 6 goals. On 7 October 1972 Luggi made the debut in the dress of Hertha in 1-1 draw at Werder Bremen. He graduated from his debut 97 Bundesliga games in a row for the Berlin and scored 10 goals. From 1964 to 1975 he had denied a total of 314 games in the Bundesliga, scoring 26 goals.
