INFOAlfredo Pesenti was very fast player whose duty was to mark the most dangerous strikers and he imposed in that mission. With his extraordinary speed and agility he'd anticipate his opponents and stopped them. Pesenti was very good marker, good in aerial battles and had strong will and tactical intelligence, something like terrier in Italian football as Berti Vogts was in Germany. Surly defender, grew footballing in Atalanta, his hometown team, for which debuted with the first team in the 1962-63 season, when the club won the Italian Cup. His career was interrupted after a conflict with Luciano Chiarugi, in which he broke a knee ligament, an injury, after which it was difficult to resume professional activities. Pesenti is still considered one of the best defenders in the history of Atalanta, for which he competed in 163 games, all in league with 3 goals, all in the season 1965-1966. Alfredo Pesenti collected three appearances for Italian youth team, but due to abundance of quality defenders at the time never made international cap.
