INFOHeinz Hornig played on left wing. A diminutive outside left who was rated as one of the best in this position during the 1960s. Very tricky player and corner specialist. A classically cunning left-footed wing maverick whose drawback was his patchy performance level. A darling of the crowds, Heinz Hornig was a great dribbler and crosser of the ball. Heinz Hornig was tricky and pacy winger who was excellent assist man, for example in season 1967/1968 he had fantastic 17 assists in 28 games. Player of small size and just average scorer, but on the other hand had very good dribbling and speed, also showed outstanding play in quick combinations and sharp crosses. After the youth he played until 1957 with harmony in the 2nd League West. He then accepted an offer from Schalke 04. With Cologne celebrated the winger great success and also improved his personal capacity.
