INFO:

Willi Koslowski was right winger and centre forward. He was fast player with solid crosses, but he was also a solid scorer and was gifted technically with good dribbling. In general he was good player but lacked consistency. The final breakthrough came in the predominantly right-winger or center forward in the round 1957/58. Trainer Frühwirth put in 28 league games on the offensive qualities of "Schwatte" and this scored nine goals on the way to victory in the league. In the shortened final round of the German championship for the football World Cup 1958 in Sweden was Koslowski in the three group games against Brunswick, Tennis Borussia Berlin and the Südmeister Karlsruher SC in action, scoring three goals to move into the final against Hamburger SV. On 18 May 1958 continued Schalke in the final with 3-0, winning against HSV. After just five minutes a cross from Koslowski sailed into the penalty area and Hamburg "Berni" Klodt diving header scored the 1-0 lead. Also in the development of 2-0 in the 30th Minute - again scorer Klodt - Koslowski was involved by an edge. After 3-0 by Manfred Cross - he was in 1956 came from Buer-Hassel to Schalke - was "Royal Blue" to celebrate the seventh German Championship. After the championship success Schalke could not repeat the performance in the league and therefore do not realize the title defense. In the Europe Cup in contrast, showed the "Royal Blues" against KP Copenhagen and in particular against Wolverhampton Wanderers and Atletico Madrid - Atlético nearly failed in the semifinals in three games at defending champion Real Madrid - excellent performances. The decisive group match on 5 May won the title holders 1 FC Nuremberg 3-1 goals against Schalke and pulled it again in the final. On the sporting highlight was on for his debut but Koslowski 11th April 1962 in Hamburg in the national team at the match against Uruguay in June, and his participation at the World Cup in Chile. In the last league round of 1962/63 was "Schwatte with Schalke to sixth place and thus the" Royal Blues "was qualified for the round-Eleven 1963/64 for the new football league. Overall Koslowski came from 1955 to 1963 in the Oberliga West to 182 games, scoring 58 goals. At the debut match in the Bundesliga, 24 August 1963, he scored in the 37th Minute the first goal for Schalke's 2-0 home win over VfB Stuttgart. At Concordia Bochum he finished 1974 with 37 years as player-coach his active playing career. In mid-April 1958, he was called by the DFB for the 40's squad for the World Cup in 1958, but was then not in the squad for the tournament in Sweden. Of 30 April to 11 May 1962 he was staying at the World Cup preparatory course in Karlsruhe and then was nominated in the final squad for the World Cup in Chile. At the tournament, he played on 3 June against Switzerland, his second international match. With his third deployment on 30 September 1962 in Zagreb against Yugoslavia ended his international career.
