INFO:

Ivan Dimitrov is former Bulgarian defender and surely one of the best Bulgarian central defenders. He was tall and strong defender, good in aerial battles and with decent pace considering his size, especially for his era. Dimitrov didn't have superb technique, but never panic when in ball possession, rarely making mistakes in passing the ball. Dimitrov was very strong in physicall duels which is normal considering his giant size for football of 60's. He played for clubs Torpedo, Lokomotiv, Spartak and Akademik. In total he played in 340 games in Bulgarian first league. He won league title with Lokomotiv Sofia in 1964. For Bulgarian National Team Dimitrov appeared in 72 games and scored 1 goal against Denmark in 1959. He made his debut for NT on 21/07/1957 against USSR (0-4) and his last match for Bulgaria was on 02/06/1970 in World Cup against Peru (02-03), coming on as a substitute to replace injured Dimitar Penev. Dimitrov participated on Summer Olympics in 1960 and World Cups in 1962 and 1970.
