INFO:Negri was a golkeeper. He spent the majority of his careet at Mantova in two spells, from 1954 to 1957 and from 1958 to 1963, making over 200 appearances. He had though his most successful time at Bologna from 1963 to 1966, playing 85 matches and winning the 1963-64 Serie A. He played also for Lanerossi Vicenza and Genoa among others. He retired in 1971. He gained 12 caps for Italy. He missed the 1966 FIFA World Cup due to injury.
Negri was an excellent goalkeeper, reliable between the posts, very effective out of the goal in 1-on-1 situations. He was capable of stopping shots in spectacular ways, helped by excellent reaction, positioning and leap. Very agile, he could make great dives. His major weaknesses were his catching, to which he often preferred using a long punch, and stopping very angled shots that were close to the post.
