INFO:
Menichelli is a former winger, mostly on the left side but comfortable on the right as well. A product of Roma, he debuted in Serie A in 1957, playing only a few games in a season. He came back there in 1960 after loans at Sambenedettese and Parma. He played 99 matches and scored 20 goals, leaving in 1963. He joined Juventus, where he had his best time: 192 games, 58 goals, a Scudetto and a Coppa Italia as achievements. He then played for Brescia and Cagliari, retiring in 1971. He capped for Italy 9 times, scoring once.
Menichelli was a prolific winger, accurate with both feet, more efficient when shooting with good power from difficult positions than in favourable ones. Gifted with very high speed especially on acceleration, he was Juventus' quickest, most dynamic player at the time. He possessed also great ball control, fast dribbling to break through the defence from the side, good leap and solid heading ability, although the ball didn't hit the net all the times. He was notably active in attacking plays, able at exchanging passes with his teammates and at delivering nice crosses. On the other hand, he wasn't the kind of player who helped in the midfield. He apparently struggled whenever he was left alone and didn't have the support of other players. He was generous, he didn't back down from challenging the defenders in physical duels and as he wasn't gifted with a big physique, he easily earned free kicks or penalties.
