INFO

Romano Fogli in his peak was regarded as the best wing half in the world, tireless runner and great conductor at the same time. Capable of producing some great passes, had solid shot and pace, covered a large part of field, helping in defence and attack with steel lungs. He began his playing career in Turin, where he played for three years, becoming a fixed point in the 1957-1958 season the team played all the games in the league. It then passed to Bologna and here he won his only championship in the season 1963-1964. Formed a pair in midfield with James Bulgarelli and became one proprietor immovable. It was during his stay at Bologna, he received the call sheets for the National Football World Cup 1966, where he played a game. In 1968-1969 went to Milan and here he remained for two seasons. In 1970, then passed to Catania where his career ended in 1974. As a coach has had less success as a player. His best moments on the bench are related to Reggio, who reported to Serie B in 1980 and remained there until the 1982-1983 season when he was exonerated. The next season came at Foggia, where he remained for one season. After some disastrous experiences, such as with Livorno in the season 1984-1985, he returned to prominence with the Siena in Serie C1, which gets good results but not the promotion. The next season came to coach the Montevarchi, in Serie C1 and was then hired by the Vicenza, being discharged after a few days.
