INFO:Greatti was a central midfielder and inside. He spent most of his career at Cagliari, playing 308 matches and scoring 28 goals from 1963 to 1972 ─ year of his retirement ─ and winning the 1969-70
Scudetto. He played also for Fiorentina, Palermo, Reggiana and Chicaco Mustangs.
A classic playmaker and one of the best in Italy at the time, Greatti's main task was to build up the attack. He wasn't too fast and didn't make as much movement as the other midfielder and strikers, acting mostly from the back. He possessed very good tactical intelligence, technique and solid strength despite not having a huge physique. He could cover well the spaces in front of his defence and fight for the ball, taking it off from fearsome opponents. He would then distribute the ball or trigger a counterattack with a pass. He also showed a good scoring ability, especially with volleys and shots from outside the box in his early years. He took kicks but to deliver accurate crosses rather than shooting.
