INFOSergio Castelletti is most remembered for his spell at Fiorentina where he formed great pair of side backs together with Enzo Robotti. Sergio was left back and in later years also a libero, player with decent technique, more offensive and skillful than Robotti, very acrobatic and agile, strong and fast as well. Despite never scoring a goal in career he like to join the attack. Born in Casale Monferrato (Alessandria) on 30.12.1937. Growing up in the farmhouse was hired from Turin in 1953. He debuted in Serie A in December 1956 against Spal Ferrara. After a brief stint at Vigevano in 1958 was sold to Fiorentina, where he plays his best matches. With the Viola remain until 1966 and then briefly dress shirt of Lazio. Fullback with impeccable technique, has racked up 214 appearances in Serie A and was one of the flags of Fiorentina, where he built lasting friendships. Winner of the Cup Winners' Cup and two Italian Cups. On 13 December 1958 he debuted in the national in Genoa against Czechoslovakia. After his playing career he worked closely with the youth of Fiorentina until three years ago. To him, his gentle stretch, to his unique style has dedicated the event that for some years is divided into 4 tournaments, the most important of which is the Europe Cup U12. Castelletti ended his playing career in 1971 in Terni. He began his career as a coach in the minor leagues and youth of Fiorentina. Sergio died in 2004 after a long illness.
