INFOJan-Olof "Ove" Grahn, born May 9, 1943 in Norra Fågelås, died July 11, 2007 in Alingsås, was a Swedish soccer player. Grahn was recruited to IF Elfsborg in 1961, the same year the team won the Allsvenskan, and played there until 1965. He began his career as a center forward, but in recent years played mostly in midfield. He had very strong shot, capable of making good long balls, skillful from volleys and free kicks, with defensive contribution. Grahn wasn't too fast though. He was a professional for eleven years in Grasshoppers 1965-71 and 1973-1976 as well as in Lausanne-Sport 1971-73 in Switzerland. He became Swiss champion in 1971 with Grasshoppers. Ove Grahn was a national team player with 45 A international matches (10 goals), 5 B international matches (7 goals), 5 U international matches (1 goal) and 3 J international matches (7 goals) in the years 1961-76. He participated in the World Cup in 1970 and 1974. He scored 217 goals in 386 league games, playing mostly in midfield.
