One of the greatest Polish midfielders. In his prime, one of the best defensive midfielders in Europe, a great organizer and strategist. A long time ago, Blaut was called "The Professor of Football" because, moving around the pitch with great grace, he demonstrated a dignified way of playing football. His teammates, but also his rivals, respected him for his calmness and his precise passes, mastered to perfection. Creating one of the best midfield lines on the Old Continent during the Great Legia era – together with Lucjan Brychczy and Kazimierz Deyna, Bernard Blaut played the role of the prudent and calm one. More of a tactician, set defensively and securing the middle line of the team. On the other hand, the excellent organizers of the game, technically perfect – Brychczy and Deyna – were tasked with joining the attack line in turns. This trio, in combination with Blaut's strategy, Deyna's imagination and Brychczy's experience, completed the image of the leading European football formation. He was a type of endurance player, thanks to which he could run all over the pitch, strengthening the attack or defense. A true metronome in midfield, Bernard possessed great and real intelligence of the game in addition to his always precise passes. Player with good heading play, especially good leap. He was a player of Building Gogolin, Odra Opole (1958-1961), Legia Warsaw (1962-1972) and FC Metz (FRA) (1973-1974). The Legion played 12 seasons (236 games, 30 goals), two-time Polish Champion (1969, 1970), three-time winner of the Polish Cup (1964, 1966, 1973).
