INFO:Janusz Żmijewski is legendary Legia striker. He was right winger but wasn't typical winger rather searching scoring oportunities. He was said to have Brazilian dribbling, hence the nickname Pele. Very fast player with good dribbling but not always concentrated and sometimes looking very clumsy with the ball. His positioning in the box was good, especially on the high balls but didn't have too much precision in headings. He tended to exaggerate with dribblings although he could send a good cross from the flank. Zmijewski began his career at the club Start Otwock. The talent that was already manifested in Otwock, he could not stay too long in a team from a lower league. At age 17, he saw activists Legia Warsaw. It is in this team, in 12 years the most successful was referring. In his debut as an eighteen league game against Zawisza Bydgoszcz. Won the Polish Championship twice (1969 and 1970) and the Polish Cup (1964 and 1966). He also played in the Champions Cup (11 matches and 3 goals). The Legion played in 300 official matches (of which 236 in the league) and scored 80 goals (in the league: 60). Zmijewski last appearance in the colors of the capital club took place in Warsaw on 16 June 1971 in a league match against Górnik Zabrze. After leaving the Legion played in clubs such as: Ruch Chorzow, Avia Swidnik, Polonia Warsaw, Siedlce pursuit, the Canadian Elektronik Piaseczno Falcons Toronto, Toronto Polonia, Polish Legia Hamilton and Mississauga. After retiring, he settled permanently in Toronto. November 14, 2008 was included in the Legia Hall of Fame. The Polish national team debut on Nov. 1, 1965 in losing 6:1 match with the representation of Italy. He played 15 matches scoring 7 goals.
