INFO

Cor Veldhoen stood out for his great speed and great technical quality. In the last stretch of his career he lost his devilish speed and this caused him to occupy the position of center-back. As a right-footed left back, the technically gifted and lightning-fast Veldhoen made a big impression. According to many, and not least Moulijn himself, Veldhoen was the main pillar of the success of left winger Coen Moulijn. Very reliable defender with great sliding tackles and good worker, pretty determinate and with good tactical awareness. He could provide good cover for his teammates. At the age of 17 made Veldhoen in 1956 his debut in the first team and in the years that followed he would become a permanent fixture in the team. Another milestone in Veldhoens career was winning the double in the season 1964/1956. In the season 1968/1969 was the success of 1965 a thinly over done, when the club for the second time won the double. It was the fourth championship for Veldhoen, who until now had been captain, and the second KNVB Cup. Veldhoen had at that time, with 27 caps to his name, a respectable international career on it. Between 1961 and 1967, when he decided to resign as an international football match because he did not combine well with Feyenoord and plastering company, he had regularly been part of the selection of the Dutch national team. Unfortunately it was Veldoen been active as an international in a period when the national team no pots could break. The sixties were his heyday as a player. Veldhoen won in that decade with Feyenoord four national championships (1961, 1962, 1965 and 1969) and two KNVB Cups (1965 and 1969). Cor died in 2005.
