INFO:

One of the greatest ball artists in history of Yugoslavia, if not the greatest one. Aco was genius whose career exploded immediately when joining Hajduk, very fast gaining a spot in NT and everything looked like new legend was born. But than unexpectedly his fame started to go down. He didn't have enough will and was dissapointed that football changed, the strength and athleticism replaced the skills, footwork, magic dribbling and technique. And Aco never accepted that new football and never again reached old level when he was one of the most spectacular players in country. Kozlina played as right or left wing half and inside forward. His dribbling skills were fantastic, many people say even better than Dragoslav Šekularac. He could do everything with the ball, had fantastic crosses, slim and elegant, agile with good pace, skilled technician, but he kept the ball too long, often also exaggerating with his dribblings. He was football prankster, a ball romantic, a joker on the pitch, a farabut, a mangup who likes to make fun of opposing defensive players and entertain his fans. Aco started his professional career playing for Yugoslav powerhouse Hajduk Split in 1958. After spending four seasons at the club he was loaned out to FK Novi Sad for two seasons from 1962 to 1964. Upon his return he spent another five season with Hajduk before moving abroad and joining Belgian side RFC Liégeois in 1967. After leaving Liégeois he had spells with lower level sides Viktoria Köln, Fortuna Köln and Tilleur FC before retiring in 1974. He was capped for Yugoslavia nine times in 1960 and 1961, and was a member of the squad which won gold medal at the 1960 Summer Olympics in Rome. Aleksandar died in 2013.

"Osvojiti olimpijsko zlato je nešto najveće što sportaš može osvojiti, ali ja sam svoje olimpijsko zlato doživio ranije – kad sam prvi put obukao dres Hajduka!" - Aleksandar Kozlina
