Nicolè was a right winger, right inside and centre forward. He spent the majority of his short career at Juventus, making 175 appearances from 1957 to 1963, scoring 63 goals. He played also for Padova, Mantova, Roma, Sampdoria and Alessandria, where he retired in 1967, when he was only 27 years old. He capped for Italy in 8 occasions, scoring twice, both times in his debut match.
Nicolè was a good striker, who had his peak way too early. His downfall began in 1962 for several reasons. He suffered of weight problems, some injuries and his condition wasn't always optimal. Anyway, he was gifted with a quite imposing physique, superb technical qualities, notable speed, fine heading, accurate finishing ability, sometimes powerful shots also with the outside. The defenders feared him for his dribbling skills, footwork, sudden sprints towards the goal. Talented, creative, he could score and provide scoring chances.
