Anzolin was a goalkeeper. He spent his best time at Juventus, making 310 appearances from 1961 to 1970. He played also for Palermo, Atalanta, Lanerossi Vicenza, Monza and other teams in minor leagues. He retired in 1985. He capped for Italy once in 1966. An efficient and consistent goalkeeper, distinguished for his good and timely saves, Anzolin was extremely agile, nearly unbeatable between the posts due to his dives from one side to the other. He was excellent in stopping the opponent one-on-one, although he wasn't as good in melee or at catching crosses due to his quite short physique. He wasn't always good at handling the ball as it sometimes slipped him away after stopping it. Nonetheless, he could read the game and position himself close to the corner of the goal before the opponent had delivered his shot. He possessed composure and didn't make spectacular saves. Instead, he followed the moves of the opposing strikers to understand their style of play to make a simple but correct, efficient save.
