Benito Sarti was a full-back or wing-half. He spent the majority of his career at Juventus, making 252 appearances from 1959 to 1968, scoring once. He played also for Padova, Sampdoria and Varese, where he retired in 1969. He capped for Italy in 6 occasions. Sarti was a great defender, reliable, smart, extremely careful whenever he had good performances. However, he committed in several matches avoidable mistakes that could be crucial, especially when he had misunderstandings with his goalkeeper. Nonetheless, he possessed excellent jump, timing, decent sprint, good accuracy with his feet as much as he had with the head. He showed great versatility as he played equally well as wing-half with the task of sweeping the ball away, which he did with quickness. He usually had to control the centre forward or one of the wingers, filling the task with timely tackling and good anticipations, although he sometimes was protagonist of inexplicable tackles that led to fouls. His only goal came from a long range shot in a match won 6-3 against Atalanta.
