INFO:
Luigi Milan is a former right or left inside. His career began in 1956 at Venezia. He had a very good season at Udinese in 1959-60, scoring 11 goals in 35 matches. He then joined Fiorentina, where he stayed for two seasons, scoring 16 times in 64 games. After a good year at Catania, he transferred to Atalanta, where he played from 1963 to 1969, making 123 appearances and scoring 9 goals. He retired in 1972 after three seasons in lower leagues.
Milan possessed good speed, technique and dribbling as well as fine strength. This combination made him very effective during counterattacks or capable of breaking through the defences and find himself in front of the goalkeeper. Although not very accurate from favourable positions, he was a threat with his powerful volleys or long range shots from the edge of the area and could use well both feet. Also, he was a good assist-man either with short passes or long balls. He was tireless and gifted with spirit of sacrifice but he often lacked of consistency. He was occasionally used in a less advanced position to support the defenders.
