INFO:Demarco was an inside. His career began in 1954 at Defensor Sporting. He joined Bologna in 1959, making 66 appearances and scoring 17 times in five seasons ─ 55 matches and 14 goals only betwen 1959 and 1961. He eventually transferred to Lanerossi Vicenza in 1964, retiring four years later, after 101 games and 7 goals with the
Biancorossi. He gained 14 caps for Uruguay, scoring 3 goals and taking part to the 1956 Copa América.
Demarco was a dynamic and combative midfielder who possessed a fine ability to set up the play. He could deliver accurate first time passes or early crosses. A decent finisher, he used his speed to beat the defences and find himself in front of the goal to anticipate the goalkeeper. He wasn't a top player but he always did what he could, not giving up even when his team was having a rough day. Despite his constant performances, he didn't find space in his last three seasons at Bologna due to the competition with Helmut Haller, Harald Nielsen ─ back then Italian teams couldn't have more than two foreign players in their starting eleven ─ and Giacomo Bulgarelli. Things changed at Vicenza, where he was the key player in the midfield, constantly working hard in he central zone of the field, never having a bad performance. He had more space and chances to show his abilities with short passes and pinpoint crosses as well as nice dribbling and sprints forward.
