INFO:Albertosi was a goalkeeper. He grew at Spezia, where he remained until 1958 after his debut in the first team at home against Novese. In 1958 he was bought by Fiorentina. He started his career in Serie A in the 1958-59 season in a 0-0 against Fiorentina on January 18th. He played a total of 239 matches for Fiorentina until 1968. He then moved to Cagliari. missing the chance to win the 1968-69
Scudetto. He won it though with the
Rossoblu one year later. He left Cagliari in 1974 after 233 games. He eventually transferred to Milan, where he spent six seasons, playing 233 matches and winning another Serie A title in 1978-79. Involved in the infamous scandal of the so-called "football betting" in 1980, he was one of the many suspended players. He returned in 1982, playing two seasons in Serie C2 with Elpidiense and retired in 1984. Albertosi gained 34 caps for Italy, winning the 1968 UEFA Euro and reaching the 2nd place at the 1970 FIFA World Cup.
Undoubtedly one of the best ever Italian keepers, Albertosi was consistent, gifted with outstanding reflexes, very good positioning, catlike agility and the ability to make acrobatic saves. He was a master at diving and rejecting the ball and was also a penalty saver specialist. He was brave, had solid speed and his goal kicks were powerful and accurate. His bad attitude and intolerance to strict discipline though reduced his potential.
