Matej Kasač was the captain of NK Osijek. He was midfielder and playmaker, technically gifted player with good passing range, vision of the game and unexpected dribblings, small stature but had good agility. He was born in Bošnjaci in 1940, midfielder. He played for Proleter Osijek, NK Osijek (1957-69), and NK Belišće (1969-72). As coach led NK Osijek (1974-1978), Metalac Osijek, NK Belišće, LIO Osijek, NK Budimci, Borac Bobota, Olimpija Osijek. He was rewarded with lifetime award in sport back in 2011.
