Georges Lamia was a goalkeeper of small height, but flexible, lively, agile and always improving. Had good positioning on the line and reflexes, secure on the long shots but was weak in the air, had good handling of the ball, very brave in his outputs off the line. Described as a spectacular goalkeeper, courageous in his outings, leaping on his line, but also limited in the air, Lamia remained in Nice until 1963. Born in Algeria, Georges Lamia was born in La Calle (currently El Kala), near the Tunisian border. After a few appearances at the D1 1956-1957 season, Lamia advantage of the departure of the international Dominique Colonna Reims to inherit the starting spot in Nice cages. In 1959, he was one of the major players in the championship of France obtained the Riviera club, a dream team worry next year Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Cup of European Cup. Taking advantage of its performance to join the team of France, Lamia argument in passing the Euro 1960, but its disappointing performance in the semi-final against Yugoslavia (4-5) costs in the final part of the Blues. He totally changes universe by joining Le Havre, where he remained one year, then signing at the Stade Rennais in 1964, where he succeeded Jean-Claude D'Arménia.
