Georges Lamia was a goalkeeper of small height, but flexible, lively, agile and always improving. Had good positioning on the line and reflexes, secure on the long shots but was weak in the air, had good handling of the ball, very brave in his outputs off the line. Described as a spectacular goalkeeper, courageous in his outings, leaping on his line, but also limited in the air, Lamia remained in Nice until 1963. Born in Algeria, Georges Lamia was born in La Calle (currently El Kala), near the Tunisian border. After a few appearances at the D1 1956-1957 season, Lamia advantage of the departure of the international Dominique Colonna Reims to inherit the starting spot in Nice cages.
