Metin Oktay was a Turkish footballer and one of the most succesful goalscorer in Turkey. Oktay joined Galatasaray in 1956 at age twenty. His charismatic personality, combined with his enormous talent to score from every angle, good physical presence, good heading and scoring ability, made him a fans favourite in his first few games. Very strong player with good jump, he could operate also as deep-lying striker with solid passes and organizing skills. He broke every record in Turkish football history. Most goals by a player (632), most goals in consecutive season by a player (11), most goals by a player in a season (38) and most goal in international competition by a Turkish player (19). He played 36 games for Turkey national football team and scored 19 goals.
