Stacchini is a former winger on either side. He spent the majority of his career at Juventus, making 287 appearances from 1955 to 1967, scoring 59 goals. He then played for Mantova and Cesena, retiring in 1970. He capped for Italy in 6 occasions, scoring 3 goals.
Stacchini was a winger equally efficient on both flanks. Distinguished for his darting runs, he was prolific, accurate with both feet, gifted with superb technique, dribbling, excellent pace in progression, the ability to deliver accurate crosses which he usually showed after he reached the goal-line. When Stacchini was in his best days, he was unstoppable, a nuisance for the full-backs due to his speed and persistent dribbling. His runs from the side to the box breaking through the defence were timely. Once he was positioned inside the area, he would receive the ball and beat the goalkeeper.
