Marcelino was a striker in the most famous Real Zaragoza attacking line in history called The Magnificent Five (Canario, Santos, Marcelino, Villa, Lapetra). He was a striker with good sense of being on the right place in the right time, he had a good shots with both feet, but his major quality was his magnificent heading ability (like the one in the 1964 European Nations Cup final which secured the trophy for the Spaniards) With Zaragoza he won two Spanish Cup trophies ( in 1964 and 1966) and one Inter City Fairs Cup in 1964. In 1964 he won European Nations Cup with Spanish national team where he scored a winning goal. For NT he played 14 times and scored 4 times.
