Savoini was a left back or left winger. Vicenza's legendary captain Savoini, he's the club's top player for number of appearances with 317, made from 1953 to 1966. He scored 32 goals for the Lanerossi. He played also 110 matches and scored 36 goals for Alessandria between 1949 and 1953.
Vicenza's true soul in the 1960s, Savoini could play in defence or attack with an equally tremendous efficiency, thanks to great tactical intelligence and good basic technique. His playstyle was very practical because he didn't waste any time but made fast the best move that suited the situation; whenever he had space, he ran up and down the flank for all the match at breakneck speed, without losing lucidity, and then he could either deliver a cross in the middle or exchange passes and get through defence to receive the ball and shoot; his good build allowed him to mark his opponents with strength even though this led to commit several fauls inside the penalty area; he was a teamworker who always looked for the best result that could benefit his team and not himself.
