A Nottingham Forest legend and their all time appearance record holder with 684 games. Bobby McKinlay was an elegant defender well known for his calm and gentlemanly demeanour, only picking up two cautions in his entire career. He was widely regarded at the time as one of the best defenders in England by his contemporaries, and was lauded for his skilful tackling, marking abilities and positional sense. McKinlay was also a model of consistency and professionalism: he once played 265 consecutive league games without missing a single one; in fact, from 1959 to 1968, he only missed 1 league game in 9 seasons. The standout moment in his career was his heroic performance in the 1959 FA Cup final, with Forest down to 10 men for more than half the game, 9 men for the last 10 minutes, and most of their team going down injured at some point in the match. He held off wave after wave of Luton attacks, helping Forest to a 2-1 win and their second cup win in their history.

The SWP was because?

Often during matches he dropped in between the two other full backs, he played noticeably deeper than the other defenders, maybe in official terms he wasn't a sweeper but he pretty much acted like one on the pitch, so I thought it would be fair enough to add it as a secondary position.

The first player in the back row from right to left is Jeff Whitefoot, and he was 170 cm. So I guess McKinlay who is fourth player from right to left is around 187cm.

One suggestion: I would decrease his MEN by two or three points. I think that Burkitt deserves to have highest MEN value from all the players from that generation and I gave him 87. High enough, but not to close to the orange values because he wasn't that class of a player. So I'd rather put McKinlay on par or point below Whitefoot who's on 85.

Well I mostly gave him that value for the FA Cup final, where he basically did the job of two people in defence, he showed amazing fortitude in that match. He was also a great gentleman on the pitch, known for his sportsmanship, and his appearance record is incredible. Otherwise, he wasn't the captain, so maybe that's a hint that Burkitt should be above him there. 85 could be a good value. Also think maybe TMW could go down a point or two, he didn't contribute much going forward to deserve an 83.

I watched that match, excellent performance by him. You can lower TMW too...
