Michel Hidalgo was a WF of the great Stade Reims side in the 50s, although occasionally he played as a SS and sometimes also DMF, like in his only game for NT or the Cup final in 1963. Hidalgo had all the characteristics of a typical winger, famous for his speed and, especially by his ability to dribble. Lively, active, good shooter, he had a very dynamic style of play, with constant moving, but rarely, almost never, drop to the defense; his game was almost purely offensive. He starts playing football in the US Normandy where he was spotted by Le Havre AC. He played two seasons before leaving then for Stade de Reims. He won a championship with the club in France and competes against Real Madrid, the final of the Latin Cup in 1955 and the first European Cup of Champions Clubs in 1956 (he scores a headed goal in this first final). He was then transferred to AS Monaco where he won two new titles of champion of France and two cups of France. He ended his career in club football in 1966. As a coach, he is coach of France from 1976 to 1985.
