INFO:Zhang Junxiu was a goalkeeper. His career began in the early 1950s at Tianjin. He then joined Beijing City in the late years of the decade. He retired in 1965 due to injury. In 1957, he was the first choice goalkeeper during China's first ever FIFA World Cup qualifiers and was named best Chinese player. The following year, he was still included in the top ten Chinese players. He capped for China in at least 5 occasions.
Regarded as one of the greatest ever goalkeepers in the history of China and included in the top 10 of the best Chinese players of the 20th Century, Zhang Junxiu inpired many generations. Nicknamed "Great Wall of China" despite not having a big physique, Zhang Junxiu had consistently excellent performances. He was gifted with good elevation and catching ability as he was a master in the diving and making flying saves.
