INFO:On a 2-3-5 formation, Jordan used to play on the left side of the midfield line and when the tatics was 3-2-5, he used to play as the left defender of the first line.
A very defensive player, Jordan was known as the best ever Garrincha's marker.
Jordan had a good physical condition and was great at recovering after being dribbled, he was tenacious enough to get back in position to combat the opponent again. His battles against Garrincha was remarkable and it is still remembered by football fans.
Jordan rarely made fouls and was also known for his fair play. A player who suffered with skillful right wingers Brazil had in his era, dribblers who sometimes played for the crowd and tried to tease their markers, he was humble enough to keep doing his job and keep his mind totally centered on his duties.
Jordan is one of the biggest idols from Flamengo and well regarded as one of the best left-backs the club ever had, even Flamengo being well known by plenty great left-backs in history. Jordan is the fourth player with more games for the club, a total of 609 matches, scoring 3 goals.
In 1955, when was in his peak, he was called up for the national team as a reserve. But as a typical football's injustice, he never played a single game for the Seleção. He had no space as Nilton Santon was the owner of the position and Alfredo Ramos was living a great time.
