On a 2-3-5 formation, Jordan used to play on the left side of the midfield line and when the tatics was 3-2-5, he used to play as the left defender of the first line.
A very defensive player, Jordan was known as the best ever Garrincha's marker.
Jordan had a good physical condition and was great at recovering after being dribbled, he was tenacious enough to get back in position to combat the opponent again. His battles against Garrincha was remarkable and it is still remembered by football fans.
Jordan rarely made fouls and was also known for his fair play.
