INFOGünter Schröter was probably the most talented player to come from East Germany. He played initially as right winger but was mainly used as inside right taking the playmaking duties. The king of dribbling, fantastic technician, could do everything with the ball, the brain of the team who could create and score himself, pretty endurable and covered large part of the field, extremly fast on the ball, skillful with powerful shot although a bit fragile physically. Statistically Günter Schröter performed with 335 league games and 154 league goals. From the 1957 season to come his 26 games and 16 goals in the first League added.
