INFO:Erich Hof is legendary Austrian player. Fantastic technician, called "Little Sindelar" for his brillant technique and vast collection of tricks. He played as inside forward and centre forward, had excellent scoring record. Hof was great set piece taker, quiet with great vision and inventive solutions. But he lacked that fighting spirit, never wanted to give his best and show all his qualities. He is considered one of the biggest idols of the Viennese sports club and was one of the most successful striker in the history of the Austrian national team. As a coach, he also allowed himself the Austrian team for over two years attend. Erich Hof fell early on because of his wit game, his technique of free kicks and vision when Brigitte Auer SCR Hochstädt and remembered by his silence a little of Matthias Sindelar. From Hochstädt he came to Dornbach to sports club, where he was a 17-year-old on his debut in the National League on 6 March 1954 after only six minutes already scored his first league goal in the championship game against the WAC. Together with Walter Horak, Adolf Knoll, Josef and Karl Hamerl Skerlan the tricky striker was soon constitute the famous five-Dornbacher the attack, with the Association of the Austrian football dominated the late 1950s. Undefeated for two years, and 41 games in a row, Erich Hof and his team, at this time was twice champion and two-time leading scorer. Even in the tremendous success of the WSC in the European Cup Erich court was crucially involved. In the legendary game against Juventus, he scored the 7-0 victory in the Prater Stadium two goals. His 224 goals for the WSC championship are unequaled to this day, his commitment to Dornbach was only interrupted by a brief interlude in Vienna Austria. Erich also hit rate for the national court is only surpassed by Anton Schall. He was one of the regular forces of the era-decker, but missed the participation of a world championship. He also worked briefly as a coach in Greece at Rhodes Diagoras (1987) [1]. Until his death, Eric worked as a consultant for Court continues sports club and Austria. On 25 January 1995 Erich Hof died at the age of 58 years of his cancer. At his home in the 214 Hernalserhauptsraße recalls the last few years, a plaque on the big football player.
