Guido Gratton was tireless runner with good working habits, solid footwork and great strength. He played as inside forward but also moved very deep in midfield to cover Chiappella's position who moved in defence when Cervato was making his numerous offensive moves. Gratton began his career in series C at a high level in 1949-50, then in Serie B in Vicenza (41 appearances and 10 goals in two years) to arrive in 1952-53. Than went to Fiorentina, in 1953-54 Fiorentina reached the third place, Gratton scored 10 goals (personal record). The wonderful season that was playing enabled him to debut in the senior squad in 1953, on November 13 in Cairo (Egypt-Italy 1-2). He was a member of the expedition of the World 1954 in Switzerland. In NT took the field for a total of 13 times. Then in 1955 the fifth place in 1956 and winning the league. He scored 28 goals in purple over 193 appearances. In 1960, after yet another 2 nd place in the standings after seven seasons left Fiorentina and went to Naples. In 1961-62 he was purchased from Inter, but Inter did not play even a championship game being sold to Lazio in Serie B. In Rome, his career ended prematurely for some physical problems that had emerged already in Naples. In November 1996 he was attacked by some thugs who came to rob his restaurant in the collection. Shot to death in a brutal fashion was hospitalized in serious condition in hospital, where he never recovered consciousness. Ten days after the attack died on the hospital bed: it was November 26, 1996.
