INFOAmos Mariani was right winger for various teams. Mariani was player with good speed, crosses and technique, solid with left foot as well and played even on the left wing sometimes. He had pretty weak shot, but accurate one especially from tight angles, possessed good dribbling skills and agility, and despite not being prolific scorer he had good instinct for goal, many times reacting well on lose balls and from mess in the box. Raised in Montecatini, debuted just seventeen in Serie B with the shirt of Empoli, in 1948, the year after he was bought by Juventus, who had it in Serie A debut Oct. 16, 1949, in Bergamo against Atalanta, it was exactly Atalanta whom the Turin club gave Mariani at the end of season 1949-50. He than moved to Udinese and then spent the summer of 1952 was convened by the National coach Meazza at the Helsinki Olympic expedition, made his debut in the match won 8-0 by the Blues against the United States, July 16, marking a goal. He lived then the peak of his career in the ranks of Fiorentina and Milan, with AC Milan won the Scudetto at the end of the 1956-57 season. In the season 1951/52 he played 36 games at Udinese. In the summer of 1952, he moved to Fiorentina and play 85 games in 3 seasons. Other three seasons, from 1955 to 1958, the play with Milan which won the league championship in 1956/57. The 1958/59 season saw him in Padua and the biancoscudati played 31 matches. After the period Lazio plays Napoli with 29 games over two seasons and won the Italian Cup in 1961/62. Closes his long career in Padua in 1965, playing only 9 games. In Padova, coached by Rocco, when paired with the companion from club Brighenti plays his best game in blue on May 6, '59, a fine 2-2 draw at Wembley against England, he marked the second and last goal for NT against England. Mariani was also coach after retiring from active playing and led Pro Vasto, Montebelluna, Giugliano, Frosinone, 1976/77 and 1977/78 Ethnikos Piraeus (Greece), Kavala 1978/79 (Greece), Montecatini, Lecco, the Spring Pistoia, again with Ethnikos Piraeus in Greece (1982 to 1984) and Kavala 1984/85. Amos Mariani died on 20/02/2007.
