Jenő Vinyei was one of the first defenders in Italy to join the attack and to score some goals, he was like Facchetti of the 50's. Not so skillful of course, but still one of the first defenders in Serie A who played more offensive football, something later was so famed for Facchetti, Cabrini, Maldera etc. Vinyei was used also as wing half and occassionally even as centre forward. He was very strong and determined player who had ferocious shot and was in charge of taking penalties. Strong in heading, with great sense of positioning and technically gifted. He imposed with his calmness even in the most dangerous situations and especially with his 35-40 meters sharp long balls excecuted perfectly on unique way from something like half-volley.Hungarian by birth (09/12/1922) after playing in MTK Budapest and the Hungarian National Team goes in Czechoslovakia, where, in order to be registered, the name changes in Eugen Prosovsky. Super-rich with class he wore the jersey of the Czech National Team also on two occasions before repeating again the cases in 1949 concerned about the difficult political situation prevailing in his new adoptive country. Brought to Italy by the leaders of the Pro Patria in 1949, moves to Napoli in 1951 where formed steel pair with Delfrati. After 4 championships in 33 years in Campania was sold to SPAL where became captain and penalty taker of blue-whites. Vinyei retired from football in 1957. In all he played 233 matches in the Italian Serie A scoring 12 goals.
