INFO:

One of the greatest ever German playmakers. Don Alfredo had perfect technique and vision, fantastic free kick taker, elegancy and agility, good pace on the ball, ability to make deadly passes, powerful shot which can be seen in fact he scored 103 goals in 301 games for Eintracht and provided hundreds of assists. Only weak points of Alfred's game were the fact he used his right foot pretty bad and rare, his introversion and not enough figthing spirit which even cost him more games for NT since Sepp Herberger preferred Fritz Walter as playmaker and in fact never liked Pfaff too much. From 1949 to 1961 he studied for the Eagles carrier 301 league games and scored 103 goals. With the outstanding ball and virtuoso playmaker won on 28 June 1959 in Berlin against local rivals Kickers Offenbach by a 5-3 success after extra time the German Championship. After convincingly played out 6:1 - and 6:3 in the semi-final success against Rangers moved his team into the finals of the European Cup of Champions against Real Madrid. On 18 May 1960 put the "Royal" by Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas with 7-3 by gates. Pfaff graduated from 1953 to 1959 with Eintracht 12 finals matches in the German football championship, scoring three goals. Overall, he was active in ten European matches for the Hesse - 1955-57 in three games for the city of choice Frankfurt / Offenbach in Messecup - and distinguished himself as a seven-time scorer. Pfaff was an honorary member and honorary captain of Eintracht Frankfurt. He played seven times in 1953-1956 in the German national team and scored two goals. The highlight of his national team career was winning the football World Cup in Switzerland in 1954. Since 1961, he lived as restaurateur and hotelier in the Zittenfelden Morretal, Odenwald. In 2006 he was awarded the Hessian Merit. Alfred Pfaff died after a long illness on 27 December 2008 at the age of 82.
