INFO

Battista Rota was right back, he is ambidextrous, so he always finds a role in the first team. Tough, tenacious, fairly hard, he also knows how to treat the ball, a legacy of his beginnings as a striker, so when he has taken the ball from his opponent, he knows how to pass it in the most appropriate way to his free companions. As a player he was most known for his speed and tactical awareness, as well as his consistency. He was very reliable player, very rare made mistakes. Rota had good strength as well, but didn't use it to butcher the rivals. As a player has played 284 matches in Serie A with the role of defender. Rota began his career at Atalanta, a club of his city, with which he began 19 years contributing significantly to the salvation of his team, scoring five goals in their last five league games, and his first matches in the top flight, despite being a defender. Very curiously, those were the only five goals scored in Serie A career, on a total of 284 games then go to Bologna, where he played for six championships. Later, in November of '60, he moved for one season at SPAL not in good sailing waters and its president Paul Mazza pointed at him for salvation. Successfully accomplished the mission, he returned to Bergamo, where he closed his playing career in 1964, having won an Italian Cup the previous year. He played 2 games in the National during the Olympics in Helsinki in 1952. Then he began his coaching career leading the Cremonese, Atalanta (Serie A flow in 1977), Piacenza (conducted by the C2 B), the SPAL and Modena. Then ended in the minor categories, alternating in society as Palazzolo Lombardy, Lecco and Pergocrema.
