Zlatko Papec is former Croatian player who played everywhere on the field like Branko Zebec. He was able to play at all the places in attack, a very good technician, dribbler and shooter, powerful and accurate shot, unselfish, good assistant. He was fast, dedicated and always extremely serious in the game. He handled the ball well, shot with both feet, and would often garner applause for his precise heading. True, Zlatko Papec, like all other footballers, had his good and bad days, but he still deserved congratulations much more often. His way of playing is based on a good knowledge of technique, but he is also a real athlete, solid and strong. Born on 17 January 1934 in Zagreb. When his stint in the Navy, he joined Hajduk Split, which is the season of 1956/57. to 1964. played a total of 366 matches and scored 167 goals. For a time he played in Germany, when he came back he played a few league games for NK Rijeka as a center-half, and in the season 1971/72, as the 37-year-old, he played for Sinj hero when he was a second-division. He ended his career as a player who has played in all places and in a half line, attacking line and the full back. With six of the "B" team (1956-1959), played six games for the Yugoslav national team and scored four goals. He made his debut on 14 May, 1953. in the match against Belgium (3-1) in Brussels, he participated at the Olympic Games 1956 Melbourne, and last played for the national team 1956 against Indonesia (5:1) in Jakarta. He competed at the World Championships in Switzerland in the 1954th and 1956th participated at the Olympic Games in Melbourne and won the silver medal. Upon completion of a career dedicated to coaching work with younger generations. In the early 1980s, coached Maribor, RNA then split, then the task of the instructor in the Split soccer federation. Zlatko died in 2013.
