INFO:
Emoli was a right wing half. He spent the majority of his career at Juventus, making 246 appearances from 1955 to 1963, scoring 9 goals. He played also for Genoa and Napoli. He retired in 1968. He capped for Italy twice in 1958. Emoli was an indomitable player who had the task of a defensive midfielder. Even though he possessed superb technique, Umberto Colombo was the one more prone to join the attack. However, because he was encouraged by Boniperti to push forward and asked by Ferrario to stay in the back, Emoli became the typical box-to-box midfielder, a tireless runner physically well prepared. He was considered also a rough tackler, although he was never disqualified as he always marked his opponent tightly and tackled him only when he was sure that he could hit the ball. Once the ball was recovered, he would advance as much as necessary to deliver a clever pass to an unmarked teammate without breaking the balance between defence and attack. He could send the ball even from his own position with accurate through passes whether there was a free teammate or a melee. If he had no chance for passing the ball, he would try the long range shot. He scored with low-ground shots from more or less 30 meters in two occasions. He was also a fine penalty taker as he scored 4 times from the penalty spot.
