Pozzan was a midfielder, mainly a left-inside but also a defensive midfielder during his spell at Bologna. He played 121 matches and scored 31 goals for Hellas Verona from 1949 to 1953. He then had his best time at Bologna from 1953 to 1957, playing 98 games, scoring 21 times in gaining 2 caps for Italy in 1956. He spent the next four seasons at Lazio, playing 96 matches and scoring 12 goals. He retired in 1962 after a season at Pisa.
Pozzan was a very good midfielder. He was gifted with good speed, especially on the sprint, and passing ability. He could serve a teammate near him with a short pass forward or to the side but he mainly used to deliver great long balls from the back. He participated very well to the attacking phase and stayed in the back to defend when needed or when his team was winning. He scored a good amount of goals throughout his career. In fact, he often used to trigger an action and then make runs towards the opposing box, receive the ball back and shoot on goal. He possessed a powerful shot, hard for the goalkeepers to catch, but wasn't always accurate from favorable positions.
