Certainly one of the best French strikers of his generation, could achieve even more if he didn't insist playing in defence later in career. He was, what later will be known as, "Total Footballer". His athletic qualities (speed, jump) and his techniques make of him one of the best French specialists. Player with unusual defensive work at the time, but also great dribbler and scorer with good positioning and even passing range. He was fast, run 100 meters 11,1 seconds, played as winger and centre forward, later deeper in midfield and defence, whatever the team needed of him. In 1951 brought him the RC Paris, and Foix already put in his first season 11 goals. When Racing a year later in the was relegated second division, he found in the AS Saint- Étienne a new club. He was in 1954/55 with 17 hits fifth and 1955/56, with 20 point game gates even third best scorer. 1956 joined Jacques Foix to reigning French champions OGC Nice, where he played the next five years. In the first year on the Côte d' Azur, he brought it to the Cup semi-final. For this he won 1958/59 with the championship of Division 1 his first title, after the team after numerous disposals had experienced a sharp break.
