INFO:Vic Nurenberg was one of the best ever foreign players in France. He played as mainly as the inside left and also outside left, but from mid 50's he was more of a withdrawn SS. A lively player who goes for the ball, a fighter with an exceptional temperament and an optimistic scorer, by his energy, by his activity, by his opportunism, these are the qualifiers of the French press for Vic Nurenberg, who belongs to the best Luxembourg players who have followed a professional career in France. He was a speedy player and had very good dribbling skills. Vic was a player with a very dynamic game, with intense moviments; he also helped the defense sometimes, thing that was not very common in those times. He was a good scorer, and sometimes played more in the midfield, distributing good passes to other players. He was equally good in the short and the long passes; his crosses were precise too. A generous footballer, constantly on the move, good at everything and efficient, lively, spontaneous, sharp. Excellent technician, game builder. Vic came the end of 1951 by the Luxembourg Amateur Club Progres Niederkorn for OGC Nice in the French professional league. In the summer of 1952, celebrated winning the league title. In the season 1952/53 he himself became a regular player, and another year later he was again in a cup final. In 1956 and 1959 get two more regional championship with the Aiglons. Although he was only 1958/59 in the league scoring charts far forward (16 goals, 14th rank), however, with his 89 goals for Nice until today (2010) the most successful attacker of the club. To a "Nice icon" made him his performances during nine seasons, but to also wore a single game in: European Cup home game against the great Real Madrid the OGC was in February 1960 quickly with 0:2 back before Nurenberg against the "Royal" single-handedly the final score of 3:2 produced. In the 1960/61 season he moved to FC Sochaux, which he promptly shot back in the top flight, which relegated again could not prevent a year later, however. 1962/63 he wore the dress Olympique Lyons, where he starred again for the title. In 1963/64, for a year joined at third division SEC Bastia. Then Victor Nurenberg returned to his homeland where he - as player-coach - with Spora Luxembourg 1965 and 1966 two more trophies in country could classify his impressive collection. He was also in two games of the Spora in the European Cup winner 1965/66 (0:2 and 0:1 against 1.FC Magdeburg) on the pitch. After end of his career, he settled near Nice, initially worked in the casino and then opened a cafe. In this area he died in 2010.
