Ferenc Machos was a legendary Hungarian footballer who played as forwad. He was know for his dribbling skills, agility, excellent technique and also his powerful shooting. Although he had powerful shot he also very good shooter and good finisher. Ferenc Machos began his footballing career in 1950 with FC Tatabánya in his hometown. When the then prime macho club remained until the year 1952, before he joined Honvéd Szeged for a year. In 1954 he moved to the capital of Hungary to Budapest Honvéd. At the club, where he among other things, with many of the players of the famous Hungarian Golden Team played the fifties such as Ferenc Puskas, Sandor Kocsis and Jozsef Bozsik, he won his first national title in 1954, when Honvéd in Nemzeti Bajnokság first place with five point lead over MTK Budapest occupied. The next year, you could repeat this title win, this time was the first place with four points ahead again MTK Budapest occupied. Another title with Honvéd was denied macho, because in the wake of the crushing of the Hungarian uprising at the end of 1956 many of the stars of Hungary fled to the West, including Puskas, Zoltan Kocsis and Czibor. Only goalkeeper Gyula Grosics, Laszlo Budai and Bozsik remained of the World Stars in Hungary. It took until 1980 before Honvéd again won a national championship. The only success the next Cup victory in 1964 in the years after the uprising was the victory in 1959 for Mitropapokal Honvéd. That same year, Ferenc Machos left the club and joined Vasas SC, also of Budapest. There he won his career up to the end of 1969 four championships and three times the Mitropapokal. After 105 games for Vasas Budapest Ferenc Machos 1969 ended his playing career and was a football coach. In the Hungarian national football team came Ferenc Machos 1955-1963 29 times used. With the national team of his native country, he took it without first having completed a full international, participated in the FIFA World Cup 1954 in Switzerland. In the tournament he was not used, while his team, which was regarded as the best national team in the world, to the finals and there vordrung surprisingly defeated by Germany. Machos completed his first international match in 1955 and played 28 more times through 1963 for Hungary, but was no longer in the world championship in some more. After he had been trained from 1965 to 1968 Vasas as player-manager, it was founded in 1969 by the Hungarian national football team as an assistant coach obliged. His tenure as an assistant coach under Karoly Soos has been less successful and ended with a missed qualifying for the FIFA World Cup 1970 in Mexico, after which he and his boss were fired. Then again, he coached from 1970 to 1972 the team of Vasas Budapest, in 1972 before he retired.
