Jezzard was a centre forward. He spent his entire career in Fulham, making 306 appearances from 1948 to 1957, scoring 154 goals. He capped for England twice despite being a Second Division player. Jezzard was a highly efficient striker who wasn't technically gifted but in possession of superb heading skill and a very accurate shot with good power in either foot. He relied a lot on his physical presence thanks to good pace and a strong body build. In fact, he was sturdy, brave, fierce, agile in the air, and considered one of the quickest strikers at the time despite suffering from weight problems.
