Charlie Thomson was a Scottish goalkeeper. In his football career he represented Clyde, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest. While in Chelsea, he was a substitute keeper for Bill Robertson, but participated in 16 matches in 1954/55 season in which Chelsea won the title for the first time in history. In Nottingham, he was first team regular and despite not having some major success in the league, he managed to win 1958/59 FA Cup with Forest. He was good goalkeeper, with good positioning and reflexes, but weaker when it comes to catching the ball. He wasn't strictly on the goal line, and with his good leap, he used to intercept crosses and long balls before getting to the attacker.
