INFO:Carapellese was a winger. He had his best time at Milan, where he played 106 matches from 1946 to 1949, scoring 52 goals. He had very good seasons also at Torino from 1949 to 1952 and Genoa from 1953 to 1957. He played also for Spezia, Casale, Como, Juventus, Catania and Ternana, where he retired in 1962. He was called up for Italy 16 times, scoring 10 goals.
Carapellese was a very talented forward, hard to stop due to his dashing sprint, mazing runs, dribbling and feints that troubled the defenders. He possessed excellent technique that allowed him to keep the ball to his feet and defend it very well. He had a nice touch and fine control of the ball, in addition to an accurate shooting ability from short distance as he wasn't very effective from long range. When he was in the right mood, all he needed was a pass from a half back or a defender or simply find himself in a favourable situation. He then started his individual offense, which was never the same as he always invented something different and unpredictable. He studied and counted the opposing defenders before dribbling them with dashing serpentines and then shooting from the most favourable position to be sure not to miss as his shots sometimes lacked of aim.
